چکیده

Suppose that G is an undirected graph whose edges have nonnegative integral capacities, that st, . . . ,s~ are k distinguished vertices in G, and that dti, I si<jl k, are nonnegative integral demands. We consider the problem of existence of an admissible multicommodity flow P= {Fii: 1 si<j= k) in which each Fii is a flow of value dii between si and sj. It is known that if kr5, then satisfying the obvious requirements of Ford-Fulkerson’s type (concerning cuts of G) does not guarantee, in general, that such a multicommodity flow exists. We give a combinatorial criterion of solvability of this problem for k= 5 and prove that if k=S and the problem has a solution, then it has also a half-integral solution. This generalizes a number of known results on half-integral multicommodity flows. Also other results on multicommodity flows and metrics are . presented.

Classification of Conformally Indecomposable Integral Flows on Signed Graphs

A conformally indecomposable flow f on a signed graph Σ is a nonzero integral flow that cannot be decomposed into f = f1 + f2, where f1, f2 are nonzero integral flows having the same sign (both ≥ 0 or both ≤ 0) at every edge. This paper is to classify at integer scale conformally indecomposable flows into characteristic vectors of Eulerian cycle-trees — a class of signed graphs having a kind of...

The Sad1-UNC-84 homology domain in Mps3 interacts with Mps2 to connect the spindle pole body with the nuclear envelope

The spindle pole body (SPB) is the sole site of microtubule nucleation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae; yet, details of its assembly are poorly understood. Integral membrane proteins including Mps2 anchor the soluble core SPB in the nuclear envelope. Adjacent to the core SPB is a membrane-associated SPB substructure known as the half-bridge, where SPB duplication and microtubule nucleation during G...

Monitoring protein-protein interactions between the mammalian integral membrane transporters and PDZ-interacting partners using a modified split-ubiquitin membrane yeast two-hybrid system.

PDZ-binding motifs are found in the C-terminal tails of numerous integral membrane proteins where they mediate specific protein-protein interactions by binding to PDZ-containing proteins. Conventional yeast two-hybrid screens have been used to probe protein-protein interactions of these soluble C termini. However, to date no in vivo technology has been available to study interactions between th...

The phosphatidylinositol transfer protein RdgBβ binds 14-3-3 via its unstructured C-terminus, whereas its lipid-binding domain interacts with the integral membrane protein ATRAP (angiotensin II type I receptor-associated protein).

PITPs [PI (phosphatidylinositol) transfer proteins] bind and transfer PI between intracellular membranes and participate in many cellular processes including signalling, lipid metabolism and membrane traffic. The largely uncharacterized PITP RdgBβ (PITPNC1; retinal degeneration type B β), contains a long C-terminal disordered region following its defining N-terminal PITP domain. In the present ...

Topology of yeast Ndc1p: predictions for the human NDC1/NET3 homologue.

The nuclear pore complex is the predominant structure in the nuclear envelope that spans the double nuclear membranes of all eukaryotes. Yeasts have one additional organelle that is also embedded in the nuclear envelope: the spindle pole body, which functions as the microtubule organizing center. The only protein known to localize to and be important in the assembly of both of these yeast struc...
